Windows 7 Deployment Lab for Partners

Singapore has started it first Windows 7 Deployment labs. The first labs exposed to customers are listed here. http://tn.geeksengaged.com/deployworkshop. For the convenience, the next run of the public class is on 23rd & 26th of Feb 2010, 16th & 19th Mar 2010. Each of the class is a 1 day workshop entailing how to deploy Windows 7.

Just to share the excitement about the Windows 7 deployment workshop. They are all full despite no major publicity being done on it. If you are not amongst those who have already registered, due to the popularity, we have plans to run another 6 classes between Apr 2010 to June 2010. So keep watching my blog.

I want to show you how it is being run, (the class is running as i am writing this).

This is the agenda we are going through.

Day 1 (4th Feb)

  • Introduction to Deployment Tools & Techniques
  • User State Migration Tool 4.0
  • Introduction to deploying Windows 7 using the Windows Automated Installation Kit
  • Windows 7 Deployment with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit 2010
  • Image Engineering with Windows Automated Installation Kit
  • Advanced Windows 7 Deployment with MDT 2010

Day 2 (5th Feb)

  • Using Application Compatibility Toolkit 5.5
  • Mitigating Application Issues using Shims
  • Windows 7 Deployment with System Center Configuration Manager

Eugene, Clarisse and I had a fun time preparing for the great experience we are going to give. Here are some pictures of how the end result is like in Microsoft Innovation Centre before the crowd comes in.

Its time to concentrate on the class. I didn't realize there are so many tools available for deployment. Painless on a large scale. Nice.
