{Insiders} Technology Support Program
What is {Insiders}
{Insiders} is an integral part of the local community which focuses on emerging technologies. For example, when SWUG runs a gathering meet-up which talks about an emerging technology, say Windows Server 2008, {Insiders} will support the event gathering.
{Insiders} comprises of technology leaders like MVPs and Microsoft staff, plus IT Pros like you, who wants to learn and IMPLEMENT the technology.
What is the Technology Support Program (TSP) about?
TSP is about providing certain level of support to the IT Pros individual who wants to learn and implement the technology. The biggest barrier stopping an IT Pro from using a technology is that they don't know enough and they don't have the support.
TSP is meant to provide access and support to the very technologies that they want to implement.
What technologies are covered in TSP?
The technologies are broken into several IT Pro Themes;
Themes Technologies Client Infrastructure - Windows 7
- Windows Vista SP1
- Internet Explorer 8.0Server Infrastructure - Windows Server 7
- SQL Server 2008
- Forefront Stirling
- Virtualization: Hyper-V, SCVMM
- Web: IIS7, Sharepoint on the WebProductivity - Unified Communications: OCS, Echange14
What are the benefits of TSP?
Based on the technology themes, all themes will receive the following at various stages of TSP;
- Access to Product Groups / Evangelists managed forum
- 1 Year TechNet Plus Subscription
- 2 x PSS Incident Calls for Support in relation to the technology adopted
- In some cases, an MS Architect or Consultant can be engaged to help review the plan
What are the caveats?
There are no caveats. Microsoft is hoping that you will learn and implement good technologies that will benefit your organization. Microsoft will provide all the mentioned level of support in exchange for Microsoft to share with the community on what you have done.
The objective is to let peers learn from each other and help each other.
How do i take part in this?
1. Identify the technology you are interested in.
2. Send i-dchung@microsoft.com with subject: "{Insiders} TSP" and i will take care of the rest
When will the Community talk about the new technologies?
At every community event, each event will be tagged with "{Insiders}" if the topic presented is related to TSP. So watch out for your Community's Newsletter.
This can come from Windows, SQL or Office groups.
Can I invite others to come and attend {Insiders} and who can participate in TSP?
You are welcome, in fact, encouraged to invite as many people as possible.
