Here’s a document from Microsoft about how much energy you can save with Windows Server 2008.
Comparing what i was able to do a few years back with Windows 2003, this is a blown off.
There are so much more settings that you can do to save power.
Read the document, its interesting. In Windows 2008, you can also use GPO to govern how power can be saved. The same GPO can be used for controlling Vista too.
